Yoinked from a friend on Facebook. This is made of WIN AND MUSIC:

Axis of Awesome are an Australian comedy group. In this clip, they demonstrate that all you need for pop music success is four chords.

You won't stop believin'.

Thanks to [info]afadoven, I've been introduced to The Romanovs.

Their sound is ...gothy/renfaire/electronica, I guess? Their blurb on last.fm describes them as "Thieves and the green fairy! Smoky torch singers and trapeze artists! Too much champagne, torn silk stockings and the never-ending lull of the backstage…" and they're not wrong.

The lead singer's name is Morgan Grace, and her voice is incredible and I want to have its babies. She's incredibly versatile, sometimes she's yowling and real like Amanda Palmer, quivering and delicate like Tori Amos, distracted and whispering like Portishead, dangerous and seductive like Jill Tracy, hitting the notes high and pure like Loreena McKennit. With a little Evanescence thrown in for flavor. They're from LA after all.

Go here. Listen to "The King". Then come back.

Yeah, told you it was good. My favorite song on the album is called < ahref="http://www.last.fm/music/The+Romanovs/_/Fever+Pitch">Fever Pitch</a> (thanks for pointing out that you CAN listen to it online, katlyn!); she tells us that the only good thing she has is her voice, and that doesn't mean anything.

It actually means quite a lot. She's amazing.
